    What is a Skilled Nominated Visa?

    The Skilled Nomination Visa (Subclass 190) is a point-based, permanent residency visa for skilled workers. It allows applicants sponsored by an Australian state or territory government to live and work in Australia as permanent residents.

    To apply for this visa, candidates must first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through SkillSelect, which is open to submissions from all over Australia. After submission, candidates will be given points based on their application. Those who meet the required ranking will be invited to apply for the 190 visa.

    Once invited, the candidate must submit their application within 60 days or the invitation will expire. Therefore it’s important to prepare all required documentation and submit the application as soon as possible after receiving the invitation.

    Requirements for Subclass 190 Visa
    • Lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI) and wait for an invitation to apply.
    • Complete a skills assessment on the relevant Skilled Occupation List.
    • Meet the minimum point score of 65.
    • Be between the ages of 18 and 45.
    • Have Competent English Language proficiency (6 bands in IELTS each module) or higher.
    • Meet the health and character requirements.
    • Can apply for the visa while in Australia or overseas.
    • The applicant must be nominated by a state or territory government agency, and not by external agencies.
    • Can include dependent family members, such as a partner and children, with the application.
